Sun, sun, sun!

Torquay harbour

There's a reason why this area is known as the English Riviera.

On average we have more sun than anywhere else in the UK. Palm trees are everywhere & even bananas can grow outdoors!

It will therefore come as no surprise that there's so much on offer when the sun is shining.

There really is something for everyone. Here's a few ideas...

Sit outside one of the many bars / cafes / tea shops / restaurants which have al-fresco seating areas & watch the world go by

Visit the beach - obviously. We have the highest amount of blue flag beaches in England ranging from busy sandy stretches to quiet coves

Shoalstone Outdoor Seawater Pool - http://shoalstone.com/ One of very few left in the country - and it's free. It's half way between Brixham harbour & Berry Head on one of our favourite walks.

Visit http://www.kents-cavern.co.uk/ to cool down - at a constant 14 degrees C.

Hire a pedalo or kayak from Abbey Sands (our nearest beach)

Visit http://quaywest.splashdownwaterparks.co.uk/ - the UKs largest outdoor water park at Goodrington sands

Go down the Oddicombe Venicular railway to the beach & along to Cary Arms for a drink by the sea whilst looking out for seals & dolphins.

And I haven't even mentioned all the walks, Dartmoor National Park, South West Coastal Path, the little villages & quaint towns, the many tourist attractions, houses & gardens!

We hope this has whet your appetite & hope to see you on the English Riviera very soon!
