Gosh, time goes so quickly doesn’t it? It’s June in a few days time and that means it’s Torbay Air Show again. Now in its fourth year, this annual event gets bigger and better each year.
It only seems like a few months since the first ever Torbay Air Show, which is based just ten minutes across the bay in Paignton.
There’s a huge variety of air based entertainment to be seen this year from the Tigers Freefall Parachute display team to a Battle of Britain memorial flight, Royal Navy Black Cat to The Blades display team. Of course as usual, the RAF Red Arrows will be starting the air show season at Torbay on both the Saturday and Sunday. The RAF will also have a Chinook display team as well as the Typhoon display team. The displays ae 2-5pm on Saturday 1st June and 11:30-3pm on Sunday 2nd June 2019.
Don’t worry, even if you don’t go over to Paignton, you’ll still see plenty of action in Torquay around the bay too. Find a bar, sit outside and enjoy a drink or too whilst watching would be our advice.
It looks like the weather is set to be good so fingers crossed the forecast doesn’t change.
There’s an event village on Paignton green open 11am – 6pm featuring a live music stage, air display stands where visitors can meet the pilots, trading stands featuring everything from artwork to books to toys to furniture, simulators, a fairground, food stall and bars. On Sunday it’s open 10:30am – 6pm.
Options for getting to Paignton are driving (though some roads will be closed), taxi, ferry, train or walking.
We already have a booking for 2020’s air show! So, if you’ve missed this years, why not book for next year now?
