After a few days of working hard on our website, today (aptly Cyber Monday) we’ve launched a brand new online shop platform on our website where you can purchase our gift vouchers online instead of having to call or email us.
In the past, it was a more manual process. You would send me an enquiry saying you want to arrange a gift voucher. I would reply giving you the options. Once we’d agreed what you wanted was possible, I’d ask who it was for, for your details to send it to then have to arrange payment from you, usually by a bank transfer that you’d need to set up.
With the wonders of modern technology, all that has changed today.
You can now easily purchase your gift voucher online via our website at www.the25.uk/hotel-gift-vouchers
You are first directed to our general Gift Vouchers page which is also a main menu item for ease of finding. This page gives you some information on the vouchers, and shows you what they’re like as well as a link to our Voucher Terms & Conditions should you need them.
From this page, you can press “Buy Now” and be taken to our “shop”. You’ll then see listed a range of gift vouchers to choose from. You can pick on any and you’ll be taken to a fuller description of the voucher and if you’re happy, you fill in a box to tell us who the voucher is for, and press “Add to basket”.
Once you’ve done this, the system takes you straight to your basket where you can choose to pay, or press “continue shopping” should you wish to add another voucher. Before you opt to pay, you can choose to have the voucher emailed directly to you (this is particularly useful if you’re in a hurry for it) so that you can either print it off at home or just forward it onto the recipient. Alternately, for a small charge, you can choose to have the voucher sent to you in the post. If you decide to do this, you’ll receive it presented inside a greetings card for you to add your own message and of course an envelope too.
When you’ve made your choice regarding delivery of your voucher, you can press “Check out with PayPal” and you’ll be redirected to their payment gateway site. Don’t worry, if you don’t have a PayPal account already, you can still just select “pay by debit or credit card” and you can pay in the normal way without having to join PayPal. However, if you have a PayPal account, it’s even easier, as when you log in, it will already have your name, address and payment details for a quick and smooth checkout process. You’ll be re-directed back you your shopping basket for a final check that everything is ok before you pay.
And that’s it – as simple as that. You’ll receive an automatic email confirmation of your order and we’ll receive your voucher request and process it, either posting it or emailing the voucher to you, whichever option you chose.

In the future we hope to add other products too. You may see items we already sell in reception like our reed sticks or Elemis Gift bags, or perhaps our branded mugs which are always popular. Maybe we will sell our jams. Or maybe I will find an extra hour or two (during the middle of the night instead of sleeping!!) to do some extra baking and start selling my biscuits or famous chocolate brownies? Watch this space.
