I hate to bring the subject up, but you realise two months today Christmas will all be over for another year? The presents opened, the dinner eaten and the Queen's speech watched, with only a repeat of Only Fools & Horses to look forward to in a few hours' time!
It's always a bit of a stress trying to decide what to buy for people, and more so in today's consumer society when most people can go out and buy what they like when they want it, even if it is on credit. The trouble is, most people don't really want anything for Christmas as they have all the belongings they need, therefore experiences and vouchers seem to become ever more popular as gifts.
To make it super easy for you this year, I've created a quick round up of ten voucher ideas down here in Torquay so there's something for everyone and to suit all budgets. They're in no particular order so bowse away and hopefully you'll find my list useful...
1. The 25 Boutique B&B voucher
Of course! Who wouldn't want to stay here right? You can either purchase a voucher for a specific room and price for one night upwards (minimum stay may apply), or you can buy a voucher for a smaller denomination from £50 upwards which can be used towards a stay with us. Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. Simply call us to arrange on 01803 297517.
2. Afternoon Tea
Who can resist a dainty sandwich and a selection of cakes? I certainly can't and just love this very English pastime. The Grand Hotel is a short ten minute walk from us down on the sea front and do a very nice afternoon tea. A traditional afternoon tea is reasonably priced at £17.50 per person, but they also offer to add a glass of Champagne or a G&T at £25.00.
3. Spa Treatment
The Sanctuary Spa is located on the fashionable high street of the Wellswood area of Torquay near Kents Cavern. They offer a host of vouchers from £10-£105 for either monetary value or specific treatments. With a long list of spa treatments and therapies, as well as tanning and beauty products there's something for everyone.
4. Bottle of Veuve Clicquot Champagne
Everyone's favourite! If you know someone who's lucky enough to be coming to stay at The 25, why not treat them to a bottle of bubbly? We have a range of options from £10 - £49 to make their stay even more special whilst spending time relaxing with us.
5. Bistrot Pierre
Why not treat someone to a lovely evening meal? Bistro Pierre is a short ten minute walk from The 25, so an ideal destination for a meal whilst staying with us. As well as a normal menu, they also offer a great value pre-theatre menu, and they have great views out to sea. Their gift cards are available in any denomination and can be used at any of their branches, making it even easier to use.
6. Theatre
We are blessed on the English Riviera with four local theatres and there are so many things to go and see. Our nearest theatre is in walking distance - just 15 minutes so no need to worry about having a drink or parking. Vouchers can be used at any of the 34 ATG theatres across the country.
7. Pier Point
Just next door to the Princess Theatre is this great restaurant which serves everything from afternoon tea to Sunday lunch, evening meals and pizzas. Or just relax in the sun on the promenade. A variety of vouchers are available.
8. Hoopers Department Store
The famous Hoopers Department store in Torquay harbour sell gift cards from £5 - £250. With four prestigous stores across England, they can be used in any of them. They have all the traditional departments and anyone would enjoy spending their gift here.
9. Dartmouth Steam Railway
With a wonderful steam railway, a river boat and bus, this company also offer the famous Round Robin combining all three modes of transport. Buses can be caught on Belgrave Road which is just behind us, a ten minute walk from The 25. Available in denominations of £5, £10 and £20.
10. Annual Zoo Pass
If you know someone who loves animals, then they'll love the annual zoo pass which not only includes the Living Coasts sealife centre in Torquay and Paignton Zoo, but nine other zoos and wildlife parks across the UK too for unlimited visits for up to twelve months.
Hope this has helped take the hassle out of your Christmas shopping.
See you soon!
Andy.
