1 Rockfish Tinned Seafood
Our famous Brixham harbour is just across the Bay from Torquay and forms part of the English Riviera. You can now take advantage of the fresh daily caught fish from the Rockfish chain of restaurants by celebrity chef Mitch Tonks by purchasing tinned fish online. This unique delicacy is now available mail-order.
2 Rib Ride
You may have seen the video on Facebook recently of our exhilarating Rib Ride around the Bay courtesy of Torquay Water Sports. Their triple engine boat goes at 80 knots and is an exciting experience. Other experience vouchers are available, ideal for when you’re next staying with us.
3 Gin Tasting Experience
Gin was all I needed to hear and I’m sold! Our local independent wine merchant The Wine Shop is a great place to spend some time wine tasting, but they also run a two hour experience where you will take home your own bottle of 500ml hand-made craft gin. During the experience, you’ll learn the history of gin, be given a guide to botanicals, styles of gin and methods of distillation.
You’ll choose your own range of fruit and floral botanicals to create your own unique tasting artisan gin to take home.
4 Torre Abbey Membership
Those of you who have stayed with us before will know that only a five minute walk towards the sea will bring you to the historic 800 year old Torre Abbey, which combines not only a stately home, but abbey ruins, a museum on the history of Torquay, an art gallery, chapel, gardens and glass houses.
With this annual membership, you have unlimited free admission to the abbey, its gardens and all exhibitions so you can visit as many times as you like. You’ll also have access to special events and discounts.
5 Theatre Vouchers
Princess Theatre is on our seafront and only a 15 minute walk from The 25. It has what must be one of the most stunning views from a theatre bar anywhere, across our Bay, and has a packed programme of performances including many touring West End shows, so why not give the gift of a voucher and watch a show next time you stay with us? They are part of the ATG group so you can use the vouchers at any of their theatres.
6 Bombay Express
We’re lucky enough to have runners up in the British Curry Awards just a five minute walk from us. Bombay Express is not a typical “curry house” and prepares instead a more healthy, authentic menu using local suppliers and seasonal foods. It’s a real treat and thoroughly recommended, so one of their gift vouchers is bound to be a useful present for anyone heading to stay with us next year.
7 Escape Room
This new craze has hit Torquay and amongst the choice available are the Torquay Escape Rooms located half-way along the High Street. You can purchase via their website and it comes presented in a box. Many guests have enjoyed an escape room experience whilst staying with us, and they’re an ideal rainy day activity too.
8 Bistrot Pierre
Serving afternoon tea, pre-theatre meals, their normal menu, along with special events, there’s plenty to choose from at either our local branch or one nearer to home. Our Torquay restaurant has a rap-around balcony to enjoy the sea-views from on a warm evening and is only a 15 minute walk from The 25 so no need for a taxi and a pleasant walk home through Torre Abbey grounds.
9 The Elephant
For a really special treat for a loved one, why not buy them a voucher for our local Michelin starred restaurant run by celebrity chef Simon Hulstone? We nearly always go for the tasting menu with matched wines, but you don’t need to opt for our excess! They also have a very reasonably priced lunch time menu if you prefer.
10 The 25 Boutique B&B
No present list would be complete without mentioning the “Best B&B in the World” (twice!) would it? We offer vouchers which you can simply purchase on line without the hassle of having to call us. We can either just email them over for you to forward to the recipient or print out yourself, or if you prefer, we’ll pop one in the post complete with a gift card and envelope for your personalised message.
